Swedish troops are exploring the waters of the Stockholm archipelago for "foreign underwater activities"




Representatives of the Swedish Armed Forces on Friday issued a statement about the “foreign submarine activity” in the region of the Stockholm archipelago. Defense Minister Peter Hultkvist said he was in constant contact with the troops, who are studying in connection with declared threatened marine space near the capital, and who informed him of the need for such an operation, according to The Local .

Operations team captain Jonas Wikström said at a press conference that the intelligence operation to investigate the circumstances of a foreign invasion is attended by about 200 soldiers.


“We have already started a reconnaissance operation.
