Skype Translator has launched a translation function of speech

Microsoft has launched a beta version of Skype Translator – a service that translates into real-time speech from English to Spanish and vice versa.


The popular messenger Skype from Microsoft now has an “almost instantaneous” translation of speech from one language to another during a call, according to The Verge. In a special test version of the program so far officially supports two languages ​​- Spanish and English, other languages ​​will be added later.


Skype Translator Preview works only on Windows 8.1 and the preview version of Windows 10. After a person on one end of the line says a phrase, the program first decodes it and converts the text and then translated into other languages, and voiced by the other party.


Microsoft is positioning Skype Translator as an educational service and has already managed to test new features in the classes of Mexican and American schools.
