Kia Sorento new generation makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show

Korean automaker Kia is going to take out the first third-generation Sorento crossover outside Korea. European premiere of the new items will be held at the Paris Motor Show in early October. In addition, Kia will bring to the capital of France and updated kompaktven Venga hybrid sedan Optima.

The third generation Kia Sorento was built on a completely new platform. According to the company, the crossover “goes to the next level of premium.” Appearance of the car is an evolution of the design language demonstrated in 2013 the concept car Kia Cross GT. Kia Optima T-Hybrid is a concept sedan, equipped with a hybrid power plant, which consists of a 1.7-liter turbodiesel and CRDI motor. The company called its “soft” hybrid circuit. Power is provided by electric batteries, lead-carbon battery with an operating voltage of 48 V.

In conditions of low velocities and uniform motion Optima T-Hybrid runs solely on electric and battery charging is carried out through the use of energy released during deceleration.

The car Kia Sorento is equipped with a system to stop and start the engine (ISG). New Kia Sorento starter-generator with a belt drive replaces the traditional generator, thereby restarting the engine operating virtually silent and vibration-free.

The system also provides for the installation on the CRDi turbodiesel innovative electric supercharger in addition to traditional turbocharging. Currently, plans for mass production of Kia Optima T-Hybrid is not.
