Meizu m1 note. First Look

The third presentation of a new smartphone for three months. Perhaps a couple of years ago, no one could have expected this from the Chinese Meizu, the company of one of the smartphone – the flagship, updated once a year. Practice, on the one hand, argued that the selected Meizu way allows the company to stay afloat and maintain the line, releasing a new device once a year, on the other hand, against the backdrop of a competitor, Xiaomi, Meizu looked paler and expressionless. Despite the interesting device, it was at one Meizu, Xiaomi while gradually from one model release moved to a small thoughtful lineup includes some very affordable smartphones, as well as the flagship. In 2014, Meizu has received a new investor, it is the largest Chinese company Alibaba, and this moment can be considered as a transition, no more of that modest Meizu, occupies a niche with a high quality smartphone.

Autumn announcements Meizu, MX4 in October and MX4 Pro in November revealed that the company is willing to invest more in new devices. At the same time, little has changed and the principle of presentations, has more references and declarations of love for Apple (Xiaomi doing it for several years, for example), as well as candid shots in the direction of Xiaomi. At the presentation, it was noted that the company is creating a new brand for the line – Blue. That is, the device is called China Blue m1 note. At the same time, on the English site Meizu left the usual name of the Meizu m1 note, so that we can offer that «Blue» – just an idea for the domestic market. Here and below, I will call a smartphone Meizu m1 note. If the unit starts officially sold in Russia, it is likely that it was under this name.

Meizu has raised the bar very high for Chinese manufacturers producing smart phones under their own brands, especially with MX4 and MX4 Pro. Both devices take off very well and now includes the top ten smartphones with a better camera (along with Apple iPhone 6 Plus, Vivo Xshot, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and some other devices). In this case, Meizu m1 note – this is a different level, entry-level smartphone, so that the camera is much easier.

As MX4 Pro, the new Meizu m1 note will go directly to Flyme 4.1, or rather, even with 4.2. Changes in comparison with the “Quartet” is not too much, in the case of the MX4 Pro they can still be seen (the new system an unlock different gestures, etc.), but m1 note – no. However, Flyme 4 – fully completed, both in terms of opportunities, both in terms of design envelope. Beautiful, accurate, simple and at the same time, to the best customizable.

Oddly enough, but the beginning of a presentation is not a story about all of these parameters, and by talking about the support of wireless interfaces. It is the presence of dual-band Wi-FI, Bluetooth 4.0 and a new version of 4G in the company paying the most attention. In Meizu m1 note officially supports FDD-LTE, but used in the Russian frequency FDD-LTE device is not supported, unfortunately.
