Mystery unique "frameless" OPPO opened on a video technology

Chinese company OPPO recently patented a new technology that allows, without interfering with the existing production process displays, make any smartphone visually frameless. Previously, we were able to look at the “real” photo gadget image that can be much better to consider directly the brink of the screen. Now the network has a video showing the effect obtained at different angles.

Despite the mediocre quality of the video, the effect is achieved exactly as we described earlier and: due to the special bend on the edge, which is a transparent layer refracts light from the display so that the picture is, in fact, is projected on a bend of the smartphone. Thus, the image appears to be beyond the physical size of the display, a picture covering the whole area of the smartphone.

When you turn the gadget can be seen that the effect of refraction disappears and the physical presence of a face becomes visible. Suffice elegant solution, given the need to replace the glass only, without interfering with the production process of the display. As we expected, the technology, according to the video, is not ideal because of the distortion images and colors. Almost certainly, this is one of working prototypes and technology will be improved, but even in this form, the screen looks, at least, unusual.

Should be further noted that the effect is not shown will cause the faces that will be pressed to accept, as the touch region still covers only the screen which is less than the physical dimensions looks when viewed at right angles. However, modern mobile OS interfaces using gestures, conducted from behind the screen, and then, given a slight bend glass, such action should be felt more natural.

Technical specifications of the gadget, which is called OPPO R7, is not known, but rumors point to 64-bit 8-core MediaTek MT6795 and 20.7-megapixel camera. However, this information should be treated with skepticism because OPPO not traditionally completes a stylish line with index R flagship solutions.
