The President of Finland on Saturday to visit Kiev

“President of the Republic Sauli Niyniste meet with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Kiev, on Saturday 16 August in the morning. Theme of the meeting will be a crisis in Ukraine,” – said in a statement.


As noted, the visit of the President of Finland in Kyiv was organized at the invitation of the President of Ukraine. “The president will travel to Kiev Niyniste directly from Sochi, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the afternoon,” – noted in the press-service.


Earlier, Prime Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb said that Finland will not impose any sanctions against Russia in response to a complete ban on the supply of products to the Russian Federation of a number of EU countries. Finnish Prime Minister described the bilateral relations with Russia as a good and mutually beneficial. “We have good relations with Russia, and, of course, we use them to their advantage,” – he said.
