Tried to understand why I want to write, that the design of the device is similar to the full line of Acer, until I remembered their flagship Acer Liquid S2, which has the same red insert in the earpiece, it is this element in common E3 and S2.

The main material used in Liquid E3 – matt smooth plastic, while, in contrast to many other models, here it is not slippery, so the unit will not slip out of your hands.
Most of the front side holds a 4.7-inch display, and above it are the earpiece, light sensors and proximity, as well as the eye of the front camera. To the left of the camera installed LED: it flashes blue when notifications glows red while charging and green when the unit is fully charged.

The air gap between the display and the glass, apparently, there is, as rejecting a screen picture noticeably dims (though colors are not inverted, it is a merit IPS-matrix). Lack of oleophobic coating frankly saddens finger glides over the surface of the screen is much worse than on displays with oleophobic coating.
As for the quality of the screen, then I would have rated it at “four”. In my opinion, HD-resolution and IPS-matrix – a great bunch for the diagonal of 4.7 inches, very small typefaces and other images look great on this display. In Acer Liquid E3 natural color reproduction, which is typical for this type of matrices. The maximum brightness is inferior to the flagship, but higher than the same Zenfone 5. The screen is unfortunately fades, and the brightness of the dark still want to reduce.
Operating System
The smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 with a proprietary shell by Acer. Manufacturer significantly changed the shell, so let’s talk about it a little more.
Lock screen. To unlock your smartphone, you can simply hold your finger on the bottom of the lokskrina. “Swipe” on a particular icon opens the corresponding program. Icons on the lock screen correspond to the icons in the dock bar desktops.
Launcher. Desktops are presented net 4×5. In my opinion, it is optimal for such a diagonal. Pinch two fingers thumbnails of all open tables, allows you to add new or existing swap. In the application menu can be sorted by name, load time, or frequency of use.

Extensive experience testing this chipset shows that it lacks capacity to support rapid work devices with HD-resolution, to which refers Liquid E3. The device works fast in all standard scenarios (paging desktops does, unpretentious applications and games). But for complex and difficult games Liquid E3 is hardly suitable, but to blame here little capacity internal drive.

Asus Zenfone 5. New from Asus with a very good performance for its price.
