The Japanese company Panasonic continues to develop its line of mirrorless cameras Lumix G. newest solution DMC-G7 received support 4K resolution and compact size, is one of the main advantages mirrorless systems against their full-size brethren, still in place, although the size and slightly grew compared to the previous generation.
The main innovation is the support of 4K-video with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels at 25p (50 Hz) or 24p format MP4. It is also possible to realize the possibility of taking pictures at a rate of 25 / s in a resolution equivalent to 8 megapixels (still image from the video). If you write video in 1080p, it is possible to get a 60 f / s. With the new Digital Live MOS sensor of 16 megapixels (the physical size 17,3×13 mm) as stated by the manufacturer, it managed to achieve a high level of sensitivity and minimize response time.
Image processor Venus Engine has become faster thanks to quad-core processor – the camera shoots the series at 8 k / s (AFS) or 6 k / s (AFC), which should, in theory, to simplify the process of fast-moving subjects. And worked on the noise reduction system, which will increase the sensitivity of the camera – the maximum is now ISO 25600 (at least – ISO 160). Algorithms have also become more accurate, assure of Panasonic.
Also, the camera DMC-G7 is equipped with OLED-Viewfinder Live View, the resolution of which has been increased to 2.36 million pixels (2048h1152 pixels), it offers an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and a 100% field of view. Face Detection / eye, accurate autofocus, Single AF and AF in low light – all these features are designed to help make better pictures under various conditions.
Communication between the camera and the lens occurs at a rate of 240 K / s. There were also three new features: 4K Pre-burst, 4K Burst Shooting and 4K Burst (Start / Stop) – the company promises that the image can be obtained from the freeze-frame 4K video. Send pictures possible and on an external device, and without wires – there is a module Wi-Fi. There is a business application for iOS and Android – it allows you to view pictures in the field, as the 3-inch screen, the camera will make hardly convenient.
Dimensions of Lumix DMX-G7 constitute 124,9h86,2h77,4 mm and weight – 410 grams. The cost of the camera is not yet known in Russia, in the United States for the version with 14-42 mm lens will be asked to $ 800, and 14-140 mm is costing in the $ 1,100. Available camera is expected in June.
