Samsung patented a smartphone capable of turning into a smart bracelet

Korean Samsung traditionally pays special attention to improving opportunities for flexible displays. Last month, we wrote about the fact that the manufacturer has patented the design of a flexible smartphone, including a flexible display, surrounded by a movable frame consisting of separate sections.

Recently, the Bureau of Patents and Trademarks US (USPTO) was seen another patent Samsung, which has become a logical continuation of the previous design. But if the last case it was only a flexible smartphone, which can be attached to clothing or belt, then this time the Korean manufacturer has gone much further and patented a smartphone that can turn into a smart bracelet or a smart watch.

The sketch shows a smartphone with a flexible OLED-display and mobile frame of some small sections that allow it to “wrap itself” around the user’s wrist and turn into a kind of smart bracelet. Samsung proposed concept is somewhat cumbersome, and its transformation into a smart bracelet can be perceived only as an auxiliary function, which is hardly suitable for everyday use. But ultimately, will depend on the thickness of the device.
